Talk to her

Description

...will you?

You might recognize the model from a previous picture ( www.furaffinity.net/view/17370… ), she's a sweetheart and she kindly agreed to help me with a second more complex painting. She works at a large zoo, and in fact the setting you see here is not a real jungle but the zoo enclosure where they keep African Golden Cats (Caracal aurata). Don't get me started on all the bureaucracy I had to go through in order to get the permissions to paint this thing on location. But it was a unique chance because the cats are familiar with her and they would stay relaxed the whole time.

Obviously inspired by Frank Frazetta's famous "Cat Girl" painting. That's a beautiful painting and by far the highest achievement of the "sexy woman with wild animals" genre of fantasy art, but its menacing undertones bother me a lot these days. Even the most beautiful picture of its kind portrays sensuality and animality as dark, dangerous, detached things... I love furry art because it does the opposite and potrays them as enjoyable and down to earth things. So I wanted to make a painting with a similar composition conveying this brighter kind of mood which I feel is the most distinctive trait of furry art.

Oil painting on canvas, 50x70 cm.
